Eddie Lara

eddie-laraEddie Lara is a native of the Dominican Republic who began his professional baseball career in 1992 when he signed with the Oakland Athletics. Eddie recorded his 1,000th career hit while playing for the Bridgeport Bluefish in the Atlantic League. He was named to 6 All-Star teams throughout his career and was also ranked 1st in fielding percentage (.963) among shortstops in 1995. In 2002, Eddie was invited to Spring Training with the Detroit Tigers. He served as Hitting Coach to the Macomb Community College Monarchs in 2003/2004. Eddie has been a Hitting Instructor at The Bottom of the Ninth Batting Cages, Clinton Township, MI, for 7 years, before that he was instructing at Macomb Batting Cages for 8 years. Eddie is currently the Hitting Coach for the entire Eastside Niners Youth Travel Baseball Organization, this club includes over 20 teams and 300 players. Eddie will be joining the Diamond Jaxx organization as the 18U head coach for the 2017 season. Eddie will also be offering private hitting instruction out of the Diamond Jaxx training facility beginning in November 2016.
